SUBJECT: Personnel Committee Recommendations
The Personnel Committee met recendy to evaluate three positions that were either new or had
significant change in duties in 2004. Employees in each of these positions completed a Job Analysis
Questionnaire OAQ) which was reviewed and approved by both the employee and his or her
supervisor. The following are the recommendations of the Personnel Committee:

Significant change in duties
The Payroll Clerk position was filled by the City's Part-time Accounting Clerk last December. This
position was revised to include only the payroll function.

Because the recommended pay grade ranges contain each position's current wage, Interim City
Administrator Lori Johnson recommends no immediate adjustment in pay. Current pay rates will
increase within the recommended pay grade July 1 of each year until the employee reaches the top of
that pay grade.
If you would like a presentation on this item or if you have any questions, the item should be pulled
from the consent agenda and moved to the administration portion of the agenda. At least one
member of the Personnel Committee will be in attendance at the meeting to make a presentation if
requested and to answer any questions you may have.
Action Requested
The Council is asked to consider the Personnel Committee recommendations and Interim City
Administrator pay recommendations listed above. Again, this item should be pulled from the
consent agenda if the Council wishes to discuss any of these recommendations in more detail. The
recommendations may be acted on individually if this is pulled from the consent agenda or in total
on the consent agenda if the Council is in agreement with all recommendations.
