4.1. EDSR 05-08-2023 Beautification Committee
Responsibilities
The Beautification Committee is a sub-committee of the Economic Development Authority.
The City Beautification Committee serves to recognize business owners, whom have made
an effort to clean, repair, improve, and enhance the overall aesthetics of their property to
maintain the beauty of their neighborhood.
This committee encourages community improvements which enhance our city’s visual image
and economic vitality.
The Committee is tasked to select an applicant during the Months of May through October
that has made substantial improvements to the exterior of their building and/or landscape in
the past year.
The committee is tasked to select a secondapplicant during the Months of May through
October that consistently maintains their property in an attractive well-kept manner.
The Beautification Committee will choose one grand prize winner in October from all
applications received from the months of May through September.
Membership
The Beautification Committee consists of five members:
Three members at large
One member representing the Sherburne County Master Gardeners Club
One member representing the Elk River Chamber of Commerce.
Meetings
The Beautification Committee meets on the second Monday during the months of May through
October at 10:00 a.m. The meetings are held at Elk River City Hall, 13065 Orono Parkway.
