Background/Discussion
The Beautification Committee have generated and posted marketing material for the Beautification
Award in the past. 2022 marketing material should be discussed, and direction should be given to staff on
what and when material should be distributed.
With the 2022 Beautification Award season in effect, the staff and committee should discuss ways the city
and committee can consider potential applicants. Currently the building department sends the economic
development staff a monthly report of commercial permits issued.

Established in 2017 to encourage community
improvements, and enhance the image and
economic vitality for the City of Elk River.
who qualifies for the award?
Properties must be located within the City of
Elk River corporate limits.
Projects may include improvements to the
interior or exterior of the business.
For new construction, a certificate of
occupancy must have been issued.
