Summer Reading Program
The GRRL Summer Reading program runs June 5-August 5 this year. We are currently in week six of the
program. To date (July 18), 989 kids have signed on to the program (942 on paper, 47 in the Beanstack
app). This breaks down to 113 Teens, 777 kids age 3-grdae 6, and 99 babies age 0-3. We've given away
over four hundred books so far.
Outreach
The Elk River Library has a table once each month this summer at the Farmer's Market. We will also be
at Elk RiverFest. Connecting with community members has been a positive experience this summer; just
last week we signed on 39 more Summer Reading Program kids and handed out over 30 library card
applications during conversations with table visitors. Outreach will be an important part of the work we
do in 2024 with more planned collaboration and participation in community groups and events.

As of today, we have filled three Library Assistant positions and two Library Aide positions. Jackie Hague,

new employees. We have one Library Aide position open due to the promotion. We hope to have it
