Proclamation
Designating August I I, 2023 as
David Bleyhl Day
in the City of Elk River, Minnesota.
WHEREAS, David B1eyThl had a profound impact on the Elk River communityT as a husband,
father, grandfather, great-grandfather, teacher, coach, and friend; and
WHEREAS, in oveY 50 yeaYs of coaching girls' high school go1f, he led the Elks to a state YecoYd
18 state touYnaments; and
WHEREAS, Coach B1eyTh1 was inducted into the iVlinnesota High School Golf Coaches Hall of
Fame in 2011; and
WHEREAS, he also served as the Elk River High School Bo�Ts' and Girls' head coach, including
15 years as the Boys' bench boss; and
WHEREAS, Mr. B1eyTh1 served as a teacher and mentor personally impacting thousands of
students during his 30-yTear career with Elk River Schools; and
WHEREAS, as an enlisted member of the U.S. Marine Corps, he faithfully and honorabl�T served
ouY great nation; and
WHEREAS, Dave was a devoted and active parishioner at Saint Andre`v Catholic Church for over
50 �Tears; and
WHEREAS, Dave B1eyTh1 made a positive impact on ever�Tone who had the pleasure of knowing
him.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, John J. Dietz, Mayor of Elk River, do
