I. Call Meeting to Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the EDA Beautification Committee was called to
order at 10:07 a.m. by Josh.
2. Consider Agenda
Moved by Ryan and seconded by Melissa to approve the agenda. Motion carried 2-0.
3. Consider Minutes
Moved by Melissa and seconded by Ryan to approve May 8, 2023, Meeting Minutes. Motion
carried 2-0.
4.1 Committee Structure
Josh advised that staff will lead the Beautification Committee meetings going forward.
Josh anticipates that members of the Public Art Committee will be invited to attend a joint meeting next
month immediately following the regular Beautification Committee.
Josh requested the committee members to brainstorm about where in the city could be a potential target for
a public art project.
4.2 Marketing Strategy for 2023 Activities
Melissa and Josh finalized the award flyer for 2023. These will be printed and put out on the city hall
magazine stand and at the farmers market. Josh will continue with Facebook posts and verbal sharing at
future DERBA meetings. The flyer will also be up at the upcoming chamber golf event.
Ryan questioned the language on the flyer of the qualifying area of the Beautification Award. Josh will
research and correct the language if necessary.
Melissa advised that a sandwich board would run about $200.
Ryan will connect with the chamber to determine if we can get our award information on their digital
change sign.
4.3 Downtown Banners
Josh shared that the downtown banners are due for replacement and wanted to include the Beautification
Committee for their feedback.
Ryan inquired about local businesses having the opportunity to sponsor new banners.

4.4 General Updates
Josh shared that the award bench was delivered to Three Rivers Montessori. He will ask Aegir if they are
still interested in their award bench the next time he is at the brewery.

There being no further business, Josh adjourned the meeting of the EDA Beautification Committee at 10:27
a.m.
