BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
This month commissioners are reviewing policy G.2 – Commission Purpose to make comments,
ask questions, or recommend updates. This is the first in the Governance Policies section of the
manual.
With this policy the Commission commits to prioritizing its obligations to ERMU’s owners and
other stakeholders in governing decisions. The Commission’s principal purpose is to ensure
ERMU achieves objectives listed in section G.5 – Results Policies, while avoiding unacceptable
actions and situations.

G.2 Commission Purpose
PURPOSE:
With this policy, the Commission commits that it will govern as a body that understands its
obligations to the owners and other stakeholders of the ERMU electric and water utility
enterprises.
POLICY:
The Commission’s principal purpose is to ensure that ERMU achieves appropriate results (See
Results Policies) for its owners, customers, employees, and other stakeholders at an appropriate
cost, while avoiding unacceptable actions and situations.
