The Lion John Weicht playground will be bought in 2023 for a 2024 installation. Three options for the boulder feature replacement at Orono Park were presented to the Commission at the July meeting. The staff report and options that were presented are included in the packet. The Commission will need to consider funding a replacement in 2024 or choose to continue leaving the space void of a feature. Projects that are planned for in the PIF for 2024 are as follows: • Trott Brook Playground replacement - $125,000 • AED's at a cost to be determined to be located in signature parks and athletic complexes • FMR partnership - $6,250 • Placing a hold on $50,000 for Kliever Lake basketball replacement until a survey is completed. The park system playground replacements introduced to the Commission in July will be reviewed later this winter by staff and the Parks and Recreation Commission. Staff will plan a community open house and a survey to prioritize playground replacements for 2025-2028. Staff will include basketball court replacements as part of this review.
