Recap the 2023 RiveYfYont ConceYt Series and discuss the goals/priorities foY next yeaY.
Background/Discussion
Except for the last conceYt with the Fabulous rlrmadillos, the overall 2023 conceYt series experienced a decline in
total attendance. Key contributing factors to the decline were the consistent hot weather and ildfires. Staff
surveyTed neighboring cities that host summer concerts and found attendance at all locations `vas lo`ver than
normal.
Staff Yecentlyr met with The Bank of Elk River YepYesentatives and discussed a few ideas to make the 2024
Riverfront Concert Series more appealing and exciting. Some of the ideas proposed:
■ A broader band line-up to reach multiple age groups with diverse audiences.
■ The possibilityT of 5 or 6 bands that will attract larger crowds.
■ Themed nights such as Kickoff to SunneT; Topical Nigbt, Countzy ' 1esteTn.
Financial Impact
The proposed 2024 budget for the Riverfront Concert Series is $35,000. Same as 2023.
