Background/Discussion
Elk River Municipal Utilities assisted the city with an energy audit of the Furniture and Things Community Event
Center.
The audit surveyed and inspected the facility operating systems to ensure optimum efficiency and to identify
processes or operations that can further conserve energy. Utilities are a large expense at the 150,000 square foot
facility as the 2022 electric bill was nearly $300,000 and the natural gas bill was over $135,000.
Administrations Director Sarah Youngs will provide an overview of the audit findings.
