VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
May 3, 1943
The regular meeting of the Elk River Village council was held in the Municipal building on May 3,
1943.
Present were G. Bailey, acting Mayor, Ernie Shadick and Elmer Leges, trustees, and A.F. Rochlke,
clerk.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The matter of a village dump were discussed. Elmer Leges moved and Ernie Shadick seconded that
Art Bailey arrange for a village dump.
It was moved and seconded that a safety deposit box be rented at First National Bank for deposit of
Village Securities.
Elmer Leges moved and Ernie Shadick seconded that Earl Darrow be seen regarding survey of
certain lots.
Andy Madson was present and offered to rent the Canadian Club building for liquor store purposes.
The matter was taken under advisement.
C. Nelson called regarding stray dogs. It was decided that another ad be run in the Star News. Ernie
Shadick moved and Elmer Legen seconded that C. Nelson make arrangements for proper placing of
the ad.
Roy Ellingson called and complained about Joe Parker’s cess pool. It was decided that Ernie Shadick
make arrangements with Joe Parker for a weeping well.
Ernie Shadick moved and Art Bailey seconded that following bills be approved and paid.
