Background/Discussion
Periodically staff receives inquiries from site selection firms seeking sites for projects. Often these are formalized
through a centralized distribution through the state economic development office, as these entities are searching a
wide area for possible sites. Staff plans to give the commission an update on recent requests for submittals of
project sites.

Support Elk River’s existing businesses through relationship building, programmatic offerings, and high-quality
city services. Attract new business development to Elk River to build the city’s economic vibrancy, job offerings
and tax base.
