10-01-1956 VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING October 1, 1956 VCM A regular monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to order by Mayor Schwartz on Oct 1, 1956 with all members present. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Two salesmen representing ice machine companies were present and explained the operation of their machines. After some discussion a motion was made by Dow and seconded by Meyer to authorize Manager Balow to purchase a Frigidaire machine for the Liquor Store for $700.00 and our old machine. Motion carried. Roll call vote – Dow yes Meyer – yes Bailey – yes Briggs – yes Mayor Schwartz appointed an advisory committee regarding the development of the new village park. Archie Larson – Chairman Albert Bailey Walter Johnson Herbert Greupner Robert Kemper The Committee also included the Village Parks and Playground Committee – Dow, Meyer, and Schwartz. A motion by Bailey and seconded by Dow authorized the purchase of a loader for the Village tractor. Carried. A special meeting was called for Oct. 15.
