01-11-1914 VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING February 11, 1914 A regular meeting of Village Council was held at the Office of Charles F. Firman Pres Wednesday evening Feb 11, 1914. Present: C.F. Firman Pres, F.M. Plank, Ed Keegan, and E.E. Scott Trustees and W.F. Chadbourne Clerk and Wm H. Clawson of the National Surety Co. Meeting called to order by the Pres at 7:30. After a conference with Mr. Clawson in regard to the Bridge No. 668 which his Co. were surety for the Grand Bridge Co of St Paul (defunct) the following resolution was adopted. Resolved That the Council consider that the Bridge over Miss River known as Bridge No 668 is completed and accepted with the exception of one coat of paint which is estimated cost 25.00 otherwise that the said bridge is complete. The following resolution was also adopted in regard to salary of Village Clerk. Resolved That the Village Clerk be allowed the sum of fifty dollars for his services the past year. Also resolved That the Village Marshal and Lamplighter be allowed until further order the sum of sixty dollars per month. Clerk is duly instructed to draw orders for said am’t each month. A motion was made and carried that we accept Frank Ebner offer of 5.00 for old lumber used for forms at Bridge 668. The following bills were presented on motion allowed and orders drawn for this respective amounts. W.P.
