VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
April 29, 1914
A Special meeting of Village Council was held on the above date at the Office of Charles F. Firman,
Pres.
Present: C.F. Firman Pres, F.M. Plank, Ed Keegan, Trustees and W.F. Chadbourne Clerk.
Meeting called to order by Pres at 8:30 P.M.
The following “Ordinance” were presented to Council
Ordinance No. 59 an ordinance to provide for the of streets, alleys and
premises as a protection against fire. Roll call Ayes C.F. Firman, T.M. Plant, Ed Keegan and W.F.
Chadbourne. Nos: none
Ordinance No. 60
An Ordinance to provide for the inspection of buildings. Protection against fire and abatement of
Fire Dangers and to provide compensation for the same. Roll call “ayes” C.F. Firman, F.M. Plank,
Ed Keegan, and W.F. Chadbourne “Noes” none.
Ordinance No. 61
An ordinance giving permission and authority to the Standard Oil Co an Indiana Corporation doing
business in the State of Minnesota to construct and maintain for a period of twenty years warehouse,
tanks and other buildings and structures necessary for its business and to store therein illuminating
oils and other dangerous materials. Roll call ayes C.F. Firman, F.M. Plank, Ed Keegan, and W.F.
Chadbourne. “Noes” none
