SUBJECT: Request to Purchase Squad Cars
The police department is requesting to purchase three marked police vehicles. The purchase
is fairly simple this year in terms of bidding, as Elk River Ford has been awarded the State
Contract for squad cars.
The 2006 Crown Victoria is priced at $21,827. The total for three squads is $65,481. We
have $29,000 budgeted for each car. The remaining amount per car is for set-up and
installation.
We are requesting that the council approve the purchase and set-up of these squads with the
funds approved and allocated in the 2006 Capital Outlay.
