05-09-1917 VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING May 9, 1917 A regular meeting of Village Council was held at the Office of C.F. Fiman Pres on Wednesday evening May 9, 1917 Present – C.F. Fiman, Pres, F.M. Plank Trustees and W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk. Meeting called to order by Pres at 8:30 P.M. Visitors Andrew Davis, M.K. Iliff and L.K. Houlton praying that the council proceed to build sidewalk on south side of Main St from McKevins store to Andrew Davis home as petition for same had been presented and acted upon favorably in 1915. The council agreed to proceed at once and build said walk. On motion of F.M. Plank Trustee seconded by W.F. Chadbourne Clerk and declared carried by the President it was resolved that this Village join the League of Minn. Municipalities and that the Clerk forward 10.00 for dues for 1917. A communication was rec’d from F.D. Waterman Pres of the Elk River Power and Light Co in regard to bill of damages to bridge resulting from water flowing over said Watermans Dam. Asking for more definite particulars in regard to cost. E.E. Scott Trustee being absent no action was taken E.E. Scott Trustee having had charge of repairs on Bridge. Mr. Frank Ebner having offered 35.00 for old junk from engine house and under Miss Bridges on motion Frank Ebner proposition was accepted. The following bills were presented and on motion allowed.
