VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
September 12, 1917
A regular meeting of Village Council was held at the Office of C.F. Fiman Pres on Wednesday
evening Sept 12, 1917
Present – C.F. Fiman, Pres, F.M. Plank and E.J. Keegan Trustees and W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk.
Meeting called to order by Pres at 8:15 P.M.
The following bills were presented and on motion duly made seconded and declared carried allowed
for their respective amts.
JF Wyman 1 ½ days team work 6.00 9.08
Star News printing ordinance 5.25
E.R. Garage rent of engine house 3 months 15.00
J.M. Crockett 1 ½ days team 9.00
E.J. Keegan 1 ½ days overseer 3.50 5.25
Clinton Smith bal due for labor on St 10.45
B.L. Hall 33 days to Sat Sept 15 99.00
E.R. Power and Light Co lamp 2.07
Rondenue and Co fumigator 18.55
Tom Daly Pres Sherburne Co Fair Ass’n came before the council and asked for an appropriation to
aid in regard to fair. On motion a resolution was passed donating 200.00 for the fair to be held Oct
4-5-6-1917
A petition was rec’d from the Methodist Church Society asking for sidewalk on street in front for
their new church and also asking Village to build a crossing across Depot St to commence same with
sidewalk on North side of Depot St on motion their request was granted.
