VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
March 31, 1916
A Special meeting of Village Council was held at the Bank of Elk River on Friday March 31, 1916.
Present – F.M. Plank, E.J. Keegan, F.M. Plank and E.E. Scott Trustees and W.F. Chadbourne,
Clerk.
T.J. Walter Village Marshal presented his resignation on motion duly made and carried his
resignation accepted.
C.W. Guptil having applied for Office of Village Marshal and agreeing to perform duties of said
office for the sum of 50.00 per month was on motion duly appointed Marshal.
The following resolution was presented and on motion duly made and carried was accepted.
Resolved that the Village Clerk be instructed to draw orders at the end of each month to pay salary
of Village Marshal and also to pay for electric lights for Village without further delay until such
notice as Village Council may give him.
C.F. Fiman and F.M. Plank were appointed com. To purchase lights for band stand and also light in
ally back of stores.
