VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
July 12, 1916
A regular meeting of Village Council was held at the Office of C.F. Fiman on Wednesday evening
July 12, 1916
Present – C.F. Fiman, Pres, E.E. Scott, F.M. Plank Trustees and W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk.
Meeting called to order by Pres at 8:30 P.M.
The following bills were presented and on motion allowed and Clerk instructed to draw orders for
same.

In the matter of damage done to south abutment to Bridge over Elk River it was decided that
immediate action should be taken to prevent destruction. E.E. Scott Trustee was authorized to
procure pile drive and a crew of men and fix approved.
W.F. Chadbourne Clerk was instructed to confer with Co. Atty. Geo Tyler in regard to secruing
damages from E.R. Power and Light Co and authorizing said Co. Atty to proceed against said Elk
River Power and Light Co if necessary. C.F. Fiman was instructed to look after accident insurance
on men working on construction work at Bridge.
C.F. Fiman com. To secure figures on planking over Miss River Bridge reported the following fig.

W.S. Ives Lumber Co Big Lake 8000 ft at 29.00 per m
Reed and Sherwood Anoka 8000 ft at 27.80 per m
Rudd Lumber Elk River 8000 ft at 26.50 per m
The Rudd Lumber Co rec’d the contract and have delivered the lumber.
The clerk was instructed to send notices to Geo E Page and F.W. Nickerson in regard to assessment
of 2/3 of cost for building sidewalk in front of their property.
