VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
August 11, 1916
A special meeting of Village Council was held at the office of C.F. Fiman on Friday Aug 11, 1916.
Present – C.F. Fiman, Pres, E.E. Scott, F.M. Plank Trustees and W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk.
This meeting was called for the purpose of deciding as to purchasing a fire engine.
A representative of the Waterous Engine Co being present.
A committee appointed in 1915 to look the matter up having reported very favorably.
The motion was made by F.M. Plank Trustee seconded by E.E. Scott Trustee that we purchase a
four cylinder No. 6 Class “B” Waterous Engine under the following conditions. Viz.
Said engine to cost 1650.00 with allowance for old engine of 200.00 making a net cost of new engine
1450.00 to be paid for as specified in contract
1 year from date 241.67
2 years from date 241.66
3 years from date 241.66
4 years from date 241.66
5 years from date 241.66
6 years from date 241.69 – 1450.00
With interest at the rate of 6% per annum from this date payable semi-annually.
Pres ordered roll call on above motion.

The Pres declared motion carried and proceeded to sign contract, a copy being on file in this office.
