Adopt, byT motion, a resolution agreeing to the solicitation for Active Transportation (A'I� funding for the CountyT
Road 44 trail segment between Highway 10 and CSAH 1.
Background/Discussion
Funding through this grant seeks to fund a multi-use bicycle and pedestrian trail connection between Highway 10
and CSAH 1. The trail will cost an estimated $550,000 `vhich includes an at-grade rail crossing with gates. This will
be constructed during Sherburne County's reconstruction of CR 44 in 2025.
Financial Impact
AT infrastructure funding does not require anyT match b�r the grant recipient, and grants are paid on a reimbursable
basis (the grantee finances 100% of the project cost up front and submits pa�T requests for reimbursement).

A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River for the Active
Transportation Program Grant Agreement
WHEREAS, The City of Elk River has applied to the Commissioner of Transportation for
a gYant fYom the Active TYanspoYtation Account; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Transportation has given notice that funding for this
pYoject is available; and
WHEREAS, the amount of the grant has been deteYmined to be $550,000 by reason of the
lowest Yesponsible bid;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED byT the CityT Council of the CityT of Elk
River, Minnesota, as follows: The CityT of Elk River does herebyT agree to the terms and
conditions of the gYant consistent with Minnesota Statutes, section 174.38, and will payr any
additional amount byT which the cost exceeds the estimate, and will return to the Active
Transportation Account any amount appropriated for the project but not required. The
proper cityT officers are authorized to execute a grant agreement and anyT amendments thereto
`vith the Commissioner of Transportation concerning the above-referenced grant.
