Background/Discussion Minnesota Statue §204B.21 requires election judges for precincts in a city to be appointed by the Council at least 25 days before the election at which the judges will serve. The attached resolution lists the judges that have been assigned to work the Presidential Primary Election on March 5, 2024, the Primary Election on August 13, 2024, and/or the General Election on November 5, 2024. Financial Impact Election Judges are paid a wage of $14 and co-chairs receive $18 per hour. Updated: January 2023 City of Elk River City Council Resolution 24-____ A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River Appointing Election Judges for the 2024 Elections WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statute 204B.21, the City Council shall officially approve the appointment of the election judges; and WHEREAS, the City of Elk River City Council hereby adopts the judges listed on Exhibit A, hereto attached, as the official judges for the Presidential Primary Election on March 5, 2024, the Primary Election on August 13, 2024, and the General Election on November 5, 2024, with the understanding that changes may be necessary to the appointments in order to fill vacancies and meet party balance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River, Minnesota, as follows: that the names listed in Exhibit A, attached hereto, are the official election judges for the City of Elk River 2024 elections, and the City Council authorizes the city clerk to appoint additional judges as needed.
