Discuss the Parks and Recreation Commission ordinance.
Background/Discussion
City staff are reviewing the City Ordinances for Boards and Commissions. Each Commission and Board has their
own ordinance regarding memberships, purpose, powers, and duties. Several ordinances have bylaw elements built
within these ordinances such as the frequency of meetings. Staff are recommending those relevant items be
established as a set of bylaws. Further, the power and duties of the Parks and Recreation Commission were last
updated in 1982. Staff recommend the Parks and Recreation Commission review its list of powers and duties for
relevancy and application.
