Approve, by motion, the attached Senior Facility Worker position description.
Approve, by motion, moving Sam Hansen into the Senior Facility Worker position effective March 18, 2024.
Background/Discussion
The 2024 FT Center budget includes a new fulltime position of maintenance worker. We have developed the
position description, which is attached, and recommend Sam Hansen for this position.
Mr. Hansen began working for the city in November of 2017 as a seasonal arena worker. He has returned each
season and started working year-round part-time when the FT Center opened, leaving only briefly when he
started a fulltime job. He returned to working part-time at the FT Center in addition to his fulltime job just two
months later. Recently he’s moved into the part-time position of ice resurfacer/facility worker.
Mr. Hansen will start at step A of pay grade 6N. All pay and benefits will be consistent with city policy.
Financial Impact
This position was built into the 2024 budget utilizing the part-time wages allocated to facility maintenance to cover
a majority of the cost.
