Members Present: Deb Hjermstad, Melissa McAlpine, Ryan Hardin, Dan Tveite, and Jennifer Wagner (4:30
p.m.)
Staff Present: Economic Development Specialist Josh Mollan, Economic Development Director Brent
O’Neil, and Senior Planner Chris Leeseberg
1. Call Meeting to Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the special meeting of the EDA Beautification and Public Art
Committee was called to order at 4:04 p.m. by Josh.
2. Consider Agenda
Moved by Dan and seconded by Ryan to approve the agenda. Motion carried 4-0.
3. Consider Minutes
Moved by Ryan and seconded by Melissa to approve the November 20, 2023, meeting minutes.
Motion carried 4-0.
4.1 Beautification Award Update
Josh shared that the EDA approved the recommendation to award Edge Bar + Boutique the Beautification
Award at their November meeting. Josh invited members of the committee to attend the EDA meeting to
support the Owners of Edge Bar + Boutique.
4.2 Public Art Project
Josh shared the draft RFP with the committee. Josh also shared that the Multipurpose Facility Commission
was agreeable to a project at FT Center as well as the Parks and Recreation Commission was agreeable to a
project at Orono Park.
Dan suggested connecting with Star News for additional reach.
Jennifer advised that there is an additional wall that is available for public art at FT Center.
4.3 General Updates
Josh advised that the January meeting will fall on a Tuesday due to the holiday.

There being no further business, Josh adjourned the meeting of the special meeting of the EDA
Beautification and Public Art Committee at 4:48 p.m.
