VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
April 21, 1919
A Special meeting of the Villate Council was held at the Office of the Elk River Lumber Co on Apl
21 1919 at 8 P.M.
Members Present as follows.
J.H. Virgin President
E.J. Keegan Trustee
Bert Carr Trustee
Wm Norval Clerk
Meeting called to order by the President 8:30 P.M.
Application from the Elk River Garage asking permission to put up a filling station in the front for
their garage on Main Street. Motion made by the President, seconded by Bert Carr Trustee and
carried that the same be granted to the said Elk River Garage provided that the same be located six
(6) feet from the line.
Motion by E.J. Keegan Trustee and seconded by Bert Carr and carried that the sum of ten (10)
dollars be allowed to A.A. Opitz for rent of ground on the Princeton Road to be used as a dump
st
ground for all refuse for the period of one year from the 1 April 1919 to 1920 provided that the
Council fence the same and also compel those who use said ground to unload or deposit the refuse
inside the enclosure and no where else or a penalty will be imposed.
The Clerk was instructed by the Council that he print in the Star News the following Notice –

That all dog licenses must be paid on or before the 15 May 1919, after said
date the dog will be called upon to take up his duties.
Abv a notice that the dumping ground was now located and could ber used from now on, as
provided in said notice.
There being no more business Council adjourned
