05-24-1919 VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING May 24, 1919 th Special meeting of the Village Council was held at the Office of the Elk River L Co on May 24 1919 Members Present as follows. J.H. Virgin President E.J. Keegan Trustee Bert Carr Trustee Wm Norval Clerk Meeting called to order by the President 8 P.M. After some discussion regarding the several bond propositions and contracts that had been duly placed before the said Village Council, they finally came to the conclusion that the proposition and contract of the Wells Dicky Bonding Co of the City of Mpls Minn was the contract that the Council decided to accept therefore the following Resolution was offered by E.J. Keegan Trustee Resolved that the Contract of the Wells Dickey Co of Mpls dated May 13, 1919 for the issuance of $40,000 in Bonds to the said Village of Elk River divided as follows $8,000.00 for funding the floating indebtedness of the Village of Elk River Minn and the balance of $32000.00 to be invested in Waterworks for said Village. President called for separate votes as follows. J.H. Virgin, President yes E.J. Keegan Trustee yes Bert Carr Trustee yes Wm Norval Clerk yes The President declared the resolution carried. Nothing further council adjourned William Norval Village Clerk Notice of Special Village Meeting and Village Election Public notice is hereby given that a Special Village Meeting and Election of the Village of Elk River, th County of Sherburne, State of Minnesota, will be held on Tuesday, the 24 day of June, 1919, at Odd Fellows Hall, in the said Village, from the hour of 9 o’clock A.M. until 5 o’clock P.M. on said say, at which election there will be submitted to the voters of said Village, and to be by them voted upon, the following propositions: I- Shall the Village of Elk River, Sherburne County, Minnesota, erect a waterworks plant in the Village at a cost of Thirty-two Thousand Dollars ($32,000)? II- Shall the Village of Elk River, Sherburne County, Minnesota, issue bonds in the sum of Thirty-two Thousand Dollars ($32,000) for the purpose of providing funds to defray the cost of erecting a waterworks plant in said Village and purchasing the necessary material therefor; said bonds to bear interest at the rate of five per cent (5 per cent) per annum, payable semi-annually, and to become due as follows: $7,000 in 1924, $4,000 in 1929 and 1934, and $17,000 in 1939? III- Shall the Village of Elk River, Sherburne County, Minnesota, issue bonds in the sum of Eight Thousand Dollars ($8,000) for the purpose of providing funds to fund the floating indebtedness of said Village; said bonds to bear interest at the rate of five per cent (5 per cent) per annum, payable semi-annually to become due $1,000 in each of the years 1924, 1929 and 1934; and $5,000 in the year 1939? At which election all of the qualified voters of said Village are hereby notified to appear at the said time and place. This Notice is given pursuant to resolution of the Village Council of said Village, in accordance with law, and by order of the said Council of the Village of Elk River. th Dated at Elk River, Minnesota, this 10 day of June, 1919.
