06-24-1919 VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING June 24, 1919 A Special meeting of the Village Council was held at the Odd Fellows Hall on June 24, 1919 Members present were J.H. Virgin, President Bert Carr, Trustee Wm Norval, Clerk Meeting called to order at 8:30 A.M. This meeting was duly called to elect a moderator for special election held this day at 9 A.M. Moved and seconded that J.H. Virgin be chosed as moderator of the Village meeting election. All voting aye. Motion was carried. The moderator then stated the business of the meeting was for the purpose of submitting to the electors of the Village to be by them voted upon Notice of which had been given by law required. The following propositions Copy of which is duly filed in the Office of the Village Clerk at 9 o’clock the moderator declared the polls open and notice given of the same. Votring then was proceeded with until 5 o’clock P.M. as per law when the moderator proclaimed the polls were closed and the Judge of Election proceeded to canvas the votes given by ballot as required by law and continued such canvas until the same was completed. The canvas being completed the result was ascertained and determined by the judges to be as follows, for particulars see copy of the same filed in the Office of the Village Clerk. Results of Special Election held this the 24 day of June 1919 as per poll list No 1 and 2 Proposition No. 1 Total Votes Cast 163 Votes cast in favor of waterworks 139 Votes cast against Waterworks 24 Proposition No. 2 Total votes cast 163 Votes cast in favor of bonds 140 Votes cast again bonds 23 Proposition No. 3 Total votes cast 163 Votes cast in favor of bonds 142 Votes cats against bonds 20 Blank Ballots 1 No further business meeting adjourned Wm Norval Clerk th June 24, 1919 BOND BALLOT SPECIAL VILLAGE MEETING AND ELECTION VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER, SHERBURNE COUNTY, MINNESOTA June 24, 1919. “Shall the Village of Elk River, Sherburne County, Minnesota, erect a waterworks plant in the Village at a cost of Thirty-two Thousand Dollars ($32,000)?” YES NO Electors who desire to vote for the above question shall place a cross (X) in the square opposite the word YES; and those who desire to vote against the question shall place a cross (X) in the square opposite the word NO. BOND BALLOT SPECIAL VILLAGE MEETING AND ELECTION VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER, SHERBURNE COUNTY, MINNESOTA June 24, 1919. “Shall the Village of Elk River, Sherburne County, Minnesota issue bonds in the amount of Thirty- two Thousand Dollars ($32,000) for the purpose of providing funds to defray the cost of erecting a waterworks plant in said Village and purchasing the necessary material therefor; said bonds to bear interest at the rate of five per cent (5%) per annum payable semi-annually and to become due as follows: $7,000 in 1924; $4,000 in each of the years 1929 and 1934; and $17,000 in 1939?” YES NO Electors who desire to vote for the above question shall place a cross (X) in the square opposite the word YES; and those who desire to vote against the question shall place a cross (X) in the square opposite the word NO. BOND BALLOT SPECIAL VILLAGE MEETING AND ELECTION VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER, SHERBURNE COUNTY, MINNESOTA June 24, 1919. “Shall the Village of Elk River, Sherburne County, Minnesota, issue bonds in the sum of Eight Thousand Dollars ($8,000) for the purpose of providing funds to fund the outstanding floating indebtedness of said Village; said bonds to bear interest at the rate of five per cent (5%) per annum, payable semi-annually, to become due $1,000 in each of the years 1924 and 1929 and 1934; and $5,000 in the year 1939?” YES NO Electors who desire to vote for the above question shall place a cross (X) in the square opposite the word YES; and those who desire to vote against the question shall place a cross (X) in the square opposite the word NO.
