06-26-1919 VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING June 26, 1919 Special Meeting of the Village Council was held at the Office of the Elk River Lumber Co on th Thursday the 26 June 1919 Members present were John H. Virgin, President Bert Carr, Trustee Wm Norval, Clerk Meeting called to order at 8 P.M. Moved and seconded that the Council proceed to do business as three (3) members only. E.J. Keegan the other Trustee having been duly notified in writing that the Council would meet on the above date 26 June failed to be present. The Council met in pursuant of a resolution to be voted on by the Council in regard to the three (3) th propositions voted on at the Special election held on the 24 June 1919, and also to set the date and time of the sale of said Vill Bonds. Moved seconded and carried that the resolution be accepted and that the date of sale of the bonds be as follows. To be advertised in the Elk River Star News on the ththth 17 and 24 of July 1919 that said Bonds would be offered for sale on the 4 day of August 1919. Sale to be held at the Court House in the Court Room at the hour of 11 o’clock A.M. said Village th Bonds to be dated August 12 1919. th Copy of the Resolution and Bond sale filed with the Clerk on this 26 day of June 1919. A Resolution was presented to the Council by State Engineer regarding the established grade of Depot Street by the State of Minn and the County of Sherburne. The following Resolution by Bert Carr Trustee was presented. Resolved that we the Village Council of Elk River do hereby approve and establish the grades on Depot Street as shown upon the Plans and Specifications of the State Highway Department of Minnesota, a copy of which has been duly filed in the Office of the Village Clerk as the true established grades of the above mentioned street. Seconded by J.H. Virgin and declared carried. No further business Meeting adjourned Wm Norval Clerk NOTICE OF BOND SALE Public Notice if Hereby Given that bids for the purchase of $8,000 Village of Elk River, County of Sherburne, State of Minnesota, bonds will be received and considered by the Village Council on the th 4 day of August, 1919, at 11 o’clock A.M. at the Court Room at Court House, in the Village of Elk River, Said bonds are to be used for the purpose of providing funds to fund the outstanding floating st indebtedness of said Village. Bonds are to be dated August 1, 1919, and bear interest at the rate of 5 per cent per annum, payable semi-annually, and to mature as follows: $1,000 in each of the years 1924, 1929 and 1934, and $5,000 in 1939; both principal and interest payable at the Northwestern National Bank, Minneapolis, Minnesota. All tenders to purchase must be without condition or qualification and be accompanied by an unconditional certified check to the order of the treasuere of the Village for the sum of $1,000. Said bonds will be ready for delivery at the time of the sale and will be accompanied by the approving opinion of R.G. Andrews of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all offeres and awareds said bonds to a lower bidder. Bids should be addressed to the undersigned. Said bonds are to be used for the purpose of providing funds to defray the cost of erecting a waterworks plant in said Village and purchasing the necessary material therefor; bonds are to be st dated August 1, 1919, and bear interest at the rate of 5 per cent per annum, payable semi-annually and to mature as follows: $7,000 in 1924, $4,000 in each of the years 1929 and 1934, and $17,000 in 1939; both principal and interest payable at the Northwestern National Bank, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
