Recreation Amenities Length of Season

Action Requested
Discuss the length of various recreation amenities.
Background/Discussion
With the recent 50+ degree weather we experienced this winter, residents are seeking an earlier start to various
recreational amenities (such as tennis, pickleball, etc.). Parks maintenance is inclined to not install nets earlier due to
their use as a seasonal amenity. There are additional costs of replacing nets more frequently by being exposed to the
elements for longer periods.
Financial Impact
The cost to install a tennis court net is roughly $1,000 per net if they are frayed/damaged from weather.
Mission/Policy/Goal
Opportunity to live, work, and play.
