Sirs,

At the request of the plan-1-iing commission of the VIllage of Elk River, a
Hearing was held on Wednesday, March 29th, 1972 at 7:30 at the Village
Hall to consider a change in the 'oning Ordinance, to change Subdivision
13 of Section 7, pertaining to the density of Mobile homes in Autorized
Mobile Home Parks.
Published notice was made in the Sherburne COunty Star News on March
16-23 and a copy of the published notice was sent to Earl Hohlen as owner
of the Authorized Mobile Home Park.
At the Hearing no one appeared for or against the proposed Zoning Change.
However it was brought out that :
1. That -6 or 7 units per acre tend to put trailer houses so close
togather that there is fire risk.
2. That the larger lot size requirement would give more play area for
children in the family units.
3. That 5 units per gross acre is the Minimum property standard for
FHA and VA.
It was Moved, Seconded and Passed (A quarum being present) that Subdivision
l,c under said Subdivision 13 which now reads "There shall be permitted a
maximum of Seven (7) units per gorss acre" be changed to read "There shall
be permitted a maximum of five (5) unites per gross acre."
This change in the Zoning regulations is herewith subbmitted to the Village
Council of the Village of Elk River, for its consideration and possible
implementation.
Sincerely, ,
Secretary, Village-Plauning Commissioi
