DISCUSSION:
• Installed seven new residential services, which involves the connection of a secondary
line once the customer requests service.
• Joe Schmidt, safety instructor from Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUA),
was here on April 23 and 24 and held safety training for all staff on Summer Safety/Heat
Stress.
• Crews finished tree trimming on April 22.
• The 202nd Avenue underground replacement project restarted again this spring. This will
wrap up in May and the next underground replacement project will be Sandpiper
Estates east of the courthouse.
• On Monday, May 6, a delivery truck backed into a guy wire causing the overhead phase
wires to slap together resulting in an outage to four customers.
• Matt Schwartz and Alex Paschall attended MMUA's Underground School, held in
Marshall, May 7-10. Scott Thoreson also attended as an instructor.
• Crews are occasionally working on items in the Highway 169/Main Street area related to
the highway overpass construction.
• Crews installed an additional three phase service for Distinctive Iron along Jarvis Street
in Elk River.
• Crews installed a new three phase service for the Ace Hardware/Pet Store in Otsego.
• Crews are working on maintenance items we have identified through our equipment
checks over the winter on both the overhead and underground system.
