DISCUSSION:
• Delivered six new water meters, installed a Smart Point module, and took curb stop ties.
• Completed 20 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples
o All confirmed negative for coliform bacteria
o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the
Minnesota Department of Health (MDH)
• Completed 22 routine fluoride samples
o All samples met the MDH standards
o Submitted the MDH Fluoride Report
• Submitted Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR) for the Water Treatment Plants to the
Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA).
• Submitted DMR for the Diesel Generation Plant to the MPCA.
• On April 8, gates at the Lake Orono Dam were opened for the first time this season to
maintain the lake level. Incoming water flow to the lake was minimal compared to past
springs because of the lack of snowfall. Water department staff will continue to check
the lake level at the dam and adjust the gates accordingly throughout the season.
• Water main relocation work continues at Main Street and Highway 169 for the Highway
169 Redefine project.
• Well 7 is finally back in service after needed replacement of the failed motor and pump
last year that led to cleaning of the well screen, replacement of the variable frequency
drive (VFD), and working through chemical feed equipment issues after the well was not
used for several months.
• We will continue flushing fire hydrants through the end of May. Customers have been
notified and a map with the zones and flushing schedule has been added to our website.
