State statute requires that the Committee shall then summarize its conclusions from the closed session at the next public meeting. DISCUSSION: Summary from Chair Stewart: • Committee Members present from ERMU: Chair Mary Stewart, General Manager Mark Hanson, Administrations Director Sara Youngs, Engineering Manager Chris Kerzman, IT/OT Technician Parker Theisen • Committee Members present from the City of Elk River: City Council Member Cory Grupa, City Administrator Cal Portner, Assistant City Administrator Joe Stremcha, IT Manager Seth Calvin, IT Specialist Jake Walz • Also present: ERMU Technical Services Superintendent Mike Tietz, ERMU Governance & Communications Manager Tony Mauren, City of Elk River IT Specialist Cory Olson The Information Security Committee convened on May 14, 2024, for a regularly scheduled meeting. The open portion of the meeting consisted of calling the meeting to order and approving the agenda and previous minutes. The Committee also voted to reappoint Mary Stewart as the committee chair for a one-year term. The Committee then moved into a closed session pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 13D.05, subd. 3(d) to discuss security recommendations regarding ERMU and the City of Elk River's telecommunications system, the disclosure of which could compromise public safety and the electronic security of financial information. In the closed session the group received information on the process for closing meetings, discussed the City and ERMU's multifactor authentication program, reviewed security analysis Page 1 of 2 45 and recommendations, and planned for a future tabletop exercise as well as new/increased cybersecurity training for staff.
