Councilmember Beyer introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
Resolution 24-28
A Resolution of the City of Elk River Approving Notice of Summary
Publication of Ordinance #24-14 An Ordinance Governing Boards and
Commissions
WHEREAS, on June 3, 2024, the Elk River City Council adopted Ordinance 24-14
amending Chapter 2, Boards and Commissions of the Elk River Code of Ordinances, after
an initial review on February 20, 2020; and
WHEREAS, Bylaws will be required and reviewed annually by each board and
commission and each group can set their own schedules in their bylaws versus an ordinance
amendment; and
WHEREAS, Information that applied to every board and commission was removed from
individual sections and added to its own Generally section for consistency in application to all
boards and commissions;
WHEREAS, Reporting requirements to the City Council were clarified for each board and
commission;
WHEREAS, a copy of the full text of the ordinance is available for inspection by any
person at the office of the Elk River City Clerk, 13065 Orono Parkway, during regular
business hours; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council, by at least four -fifths
vote, authorizes the publication of the title and summary of Ordinance 24-14.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember
Westgaard, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor
Dietz, Councilmembers Grupa. Westgaard, and Beyer and the following against: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
The following members were present: Mayor Dietz Councilmembers Grua West aard
and BeyLr and the following absent: Councilmember Wagner.
Passed and adopted this 3`d day of June 2024.
