Authorization to A I for a Metro Greenwa s Grant
Introduction
Staff is requesting authorization to apply for a Metro Greenways Grant.
Discussion
Staff is seeking funding sources for the purchase of two parcels adjacent to Woodland Trails Park. An 18-
acre parcel (Malmstrom) on CR 77 would become the long needed, eastern gateway into Woodland Trails
Park. A 13-acre parcel owned by the Elk River Country Club is for sale. The Country Club Board
approved a motion that expressed their preference to see it preserved rather than developed. This parcel
borders the Great Northern Trail and its addition to the park would retain this wooded buffer.
