DISCUSSION:
• Delivered 10 new water meters, sealed the meter, installed an encoder receiver
transmitter, and took curb stop ties.
• Completed 20 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples
o All confirmed negative for Coliform Bacteria.
o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the MDH
• Completed 20 routine fluoride samples
o All samples met MDH standards.
o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report
• Submitted Discharge Monitoring Report for the Diesel Generation Plant to the
Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
• The water department completed the annual inspection of the Lake Orono Damon
October 2. The dam seems to be in satisfactory condition.
• The final report from our annual leak detection survey confirmed 5 leaks out of the 12
suspected leaks in the distribution system. Four of the leaks are from fire hydrants, one
is from a water service line. The water operators have fixed most of the leaking fire
hydrants and we have shut off the leaking water service until the owner has it repaired.
• ERMU has received communication that AT&T is ready to proceed with entering into a
lease agreement to install telecommunication equipment on the Freeport Street Water
Tower. We are working with Campbell Knutson to draft the lease agreement.
• Katy, Angela, Mikey, and I attended the Minnesota American Water Works Association's
annual conference in Duluth. Katy and Angela competed in the Hydrant Hysteria event
again, they improved their time from last year's event, but some of the other teams did
as well. Unfortunately, they did not qualify for the final round. We are very proud of
how they represented ERMU.
