Approve, by motion, the 2024 Street Maintenance Division equipment replacement purchase as scheduled in
the Capital Improvement Plan
Background/Discussion
The Street Maintenance Division requests authorization to proceed with the purchase of a Caterpillar model
255 compact track loader with a HM316 forestry mulching attachment. The compact track loader replaces
the division's existing compact track loader and is vital in performing various tasks including material loading,
stump grinding, compost site maintenance, asphalt milling, etc. In addition, the forestry mulching attachment
will be utilized for the maintenance of our storm water basins and forest invasive species management.
These purchases were planned in the 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Plan and budgeted in the 2024
Equipment Replacement Fund for th ereplacement of existing equipment. The existing compact track loader
will be traded with revenue going back into the Equipment Replacement Fund.
Financial Impact
$90,370.00 from the 2024 Equipment Replacement Fund utilizing MnDOT contract #242476 release T-631(5).
