Action Requested
Approve, by motion, the hiring of Jeremy Taylor as street maintenance operator effective June 3, 2024.
Background/Discussion
Due to a recent retirement and resignation, we have two vacant street maintenance operator positions. We
went to market, received 18 applications, and interviewed 10 candidates. Following second interviews and
background and reference checks, we recommend Jeremy Taylor for one of these positions.
Mr. Taylor worked for the city as a seasonal employee the summers of 2011 through 2014 and as a winter
seasonal employee in 2017. He worked the 2017 summer season with Rock Underground and then went on
to a fulltime career as a route driver for Culligan Water. Desiring to get back into the maintenance field, he
applied for this opportunity and we are happy to have him return.
Mr. Taylor will start at step A of this Local 49 position. All pay and benefits will be consistent with city policy
and union contract.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.
