Action Requested
Approve, by motion, the hiring of Allison Libor to the position of police officer effective July 8, 2024.
Background/Discussion
Due to recent retirements, we have been recruiting police officer candidates on an on-going basis. Our
process has been to interview qualified candidates as applications are received. Following interviews,
background check, physical and psychological testing, we recommend Allison Libor for one of our vacant
positions.
Ms. Libor is working toward a bachelors degree in criminal justice and worked three years as a military police
officer in the Army, one year as a police officer for the Department of Defense Army in Fort Wainwright,
Arkansas, and has been a police officer for the River Falls Police Department for the past two years.
As a lateral hire, Ms. Libor will start at pay step 3 of the LELS Local 231 contract and be eligible for a pay step
increase upon successful completion of field training. All other pay and benefits will be consistent with union
contract and city policy.

This is a budgeted position.
