Background/Discussion Due to recent retirements, we have been recruiting police officer candidates on an on-going basis. Our process has been to interview qualified candidates as applications are received. Following interviews, background check, physical and psychological testing, we recommend Allison Libor for one of our vacant positions. Ms. Libor is working toward a bachelors degree in criminal justice and worked three years as a military police officer in the Army, one year as a police officer for the Department of Defense Army in Fort Wainwright, Arkansas, and has been a police officer for the River Falls Police Department for the past two years. As a lateral hire, Ms. Libor will start at pay step 3 of the LELS Local 231 contract and be eligible for a pay step increase upon successful completion of field training. All other pay and benefits will be consistent with union contract and city policy. Financial Impact This is a budgeted position.
