2024 Equipment Replacement Fund Purchase

Action Requested
Approve, by motion, the 2024 Street Maintenance Division equipment replacement purchase as scheduled in
the Capital Improvement Plan.
Background/Discussion
The Street Maintenance Division requests authorization to purchase an Altec Industries AT48M aerial lift
truck to replace the 2010 F550 sign truck. This truck will provide public works with greater flexibility by
serving as a sign truck and an aerial lift truck. The primary function will be street and trail ROW tree
trimming and Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) tree removal with the capability to serve the city's sign maintenance
needs.
This purchase is planned in the 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Plan and budgeted in the 2024 Equipment
Replacement fund for the replacement of existing equipment. The existing sign truck will be auctioned with
any proceeds placed into the Equipment Replacement Fund.
This purchase will be through the Sourcewell contract.
Financial Impact
$201,902 from the 2024 Equipment Replacement Fund.
Mission/Policy/Goal
Replacement of this equipment will help to ensure a sustainable city fleet to provide exceptional service in the
areas of street and trail right-of-way maintenance, EAB management, and sign maintenance.
