Approve, by motion, the hiring of Tim Sundem to the position of park maintenance worker effective August
26, 2024.
Background/Discussion
We went to market to fill a vacant park maintenance worker position. We received 78 applications and
offered interviews to 17 candidates. Following second interviews, background, and reference checks, we
recommend Tim Sundem for the position.
Mr. Sundem was a member of the Army National Guard for 13 years. During that time, he also worked in
security and production fields and led a Sentence to Serve crew for the City of Edina forestry department and
the City of Blaine parks department.
Mr. Sundem will start at step A of the IUOE Local 49 pay plan. All pay and benefits will be consistent with
union contract and city policy.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.
