Hire Wastewater Operator

Action Requested
Approve, by motion, the hiring of Jacob Dietsch to the position of wastewater operator effective September
4, 2024.
Background/Discussion
We went to market to fill a vacant wastewater operator position in May. We weren't able to fill the position
at that time. We instead hired a seasonal laborer to assist with our summer work of jetting the sewer lines.
Jacob Dietsch has proven to be a valuable employee and we recommend hiring him for the vacant wastewater
operator position.
Mr. Dietsch previously worked in two food orientated retail businesses before beginning work for us this past
July. He has attended Centry College for firefighting, EMS, and Hazardous Materials. He would start this
position at step A. All pay and benefits would be consistent with city policy.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.
