1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m.
2. POLICE CHIEF CANDIDATE INTERVIEW
2.1 Police Chief Candidate Interview
Senior Consultant Mike Brethorst, with MGT Consulting, provided the Council with details about his
work and consulting experience and his role in recruitment. He provided an overview of the onboarding
process and how his team vetted the candidates for police chief. He and Mr. Portner further discussed
the interview panel process.
The Council met and interviewed David Kuhnly. The Council discussed the process and the candidate.
The Council consensus was to direct staff to draft an offer to Mr. Kuhnly. The Council asked staff to
meet with the police department to discuss the process and decisions made and further asked staff to
keep the City Council informed about the police department.
3. MOTION TO ADJOURN
Moved by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Grupa to adjourn the
meeting of City Council. Motion Carried 5-0.
The meeting adjourned at 6:59 PM
