Action Requested
Approve, by motion, the hiring of Jerrod Lobdell to the position of street maintenance operator effective
October 28, 2024.
Background/Discussion
We recently went to market to fill two vacant street maintenance operator positions. One candidate has
been hired and we are now recommending Jerrod Lobdell for the other position.
Mr. Lobdell has been working as a CDL operator since June 2022. Prior to that he worked in varying fields
including heavy equipment operation, public works technician, machinist, maintenance, cabinet building, and
retail management. He is a staff sergeant in the Army National Guard and a former firefighter for the
Clarkfield Fire Department.
Mr. Lobdell will start at step A of the IUOE Local 49 pay range for this position. All pay and benefits will be
consistent with union contract and city policy.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.
