DISCUSSION:
• In December there are two bill inserts being sent. The first going to all accounts is the
winter 2024 edition of the Current newsletter, which covers the decommissioning of the
power plant, tree trimming, utility scams notice, SmartHub, ERMU's communications
award, and more. Residential electric customers will also receive the attached Advanced
Metering Infrastructure (AMI) flyer. All customers received a version of this flyer earlier
in 2024 at the beginning of the project, the current language informs customers that we
have begun the electric meter change out portion.
• In addition to bill insert topics, social media posts this month feature a variety of topics
including the commission meeting notice, commercial rebates and energy audits
through our partnership with Frontier Energy, and holiday closures/garbage delays.
• Communications & Administrative Coordinator Jenny Foss continues to attend
Leadership Program meetings once a month through the Elk River Area Chamber of
Commerce. In November, the focus for the group was on non-profit organizations while
the December session will take participants on a behind -the -scenes tour of the
Sherburne County jail.
• The communications team is in the process of making updates to the communications
schedule, bill inserts plan, and website changes for 2025.
• Communications staff continues to attend weekly AMI meetings to ensure that
messaging to customers is current and accurate.
