CALL MEETING TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting was called to order at 3:32 PM by Josh. 2. INTRODUCTIONS All attendees introduced themselves. 3. CONSIDER AGENDA Moved by Ryan and seconded by Melissa to approve the agenda. Motion Carried 5-0. 4. CONSIDER MINUTES 4.1 June 17, 2024, Meeting Minutes Moved by Ryan and seconded by Jennifer to approve the June 17, 2024 meeting minutes. Motion Carried 5-0. 5. GENERAL BUSINESS 5.1 Public Art Project Carey shared details on a similar project she completed in Brookings South Dakota as well as showing materials used in the piece. Josh shared that the wall near the restrooms at FT Center will be the optimal location for the piece. The piece will be slightly smaller than proposed to fit on the desired wall. Nic shared that she will work to get students involved closer to installation and school is back in session. Beautification and Public Art Committee Minutes July 15, 2024 Page 2 of 2 A Deb shared that the junior Master Gardeners are set to work on the butterfly pavers July 25th. 5.2 General Updates Josh shared that he has created a public art web page on the economic development website. He asked the committee to share any feedback they may have on the page. Josh shared details about a wind turbine bench that could fit in with the Energy City/Powered by Nature themes of Elk River for a potential future public art project. The committee discussed the budget and determined that they would not want to request less than the amount allocated each year of the past two years.
