Proclaim, by motion, December 2, 2024, as Jeff Prehatney Day in the City of Elk River.
Background/Discussion
We wish to recognize Jeff, who has been an integral part of our team for many years. His dedication and
commitment to the city have not gone unnoticed.
In honor of his years of service, we are designating this day to celebrate his contributions to the city. Though
he may not be here in person tonight (he's skipped off to Florida for the winter already!), his hard work and
dedication are appreciated and have made a positive impact on our success.
We wish to express our gratitude for all he has done, and thank him for his years of service.
Jeff was a Community Service Officer for 21 years, and we wish him the best in his retirement.

Proclamation
Designating December 2, 2024, as
Jeff Prehatney Day
in the City of Elk River, Minnesota.
WHEREAS, Jeff Prehatney has retired from the Police Department after 21 years of service; and
WHEREAS, Jeff Prehatney has earned the respect and friendship of his peers, co-workers, and
the Elk River Community; and
WHEREAS, for his dedicated service, the City Council extends their sincere appreciation to Mike
Suchy and wish him a long, happy, and healthy retirement!
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, John J. Dietz, Mayor of Elk River, do
hereby proclaim December 2, 2024 as Jeff Prehatney Day in recognition and appreciation of the
loyal and professional service provided by Jeff Prehatney.
