Mayor Dietz to read and present the proclamation to the Elk River Football team.
Background/Discussion
The Elk River High School Football team finished their season with an overall record of 12-1, winning the
Minnesota State High School League Class 5A State Championship. The City Council is asked to welcome and
congratulate the team on their winning season.

Proclamation
Designating December 16, 2024, as
Elk River High School Football Team 133 Day
in the City of Elk River, Minnesota.
WHEREAS, the Elks, under the leadership of Head Coach Steve Hamilton, who developed a
program built on commitment, dedication, and positivity, as well as creativity with their use of the
unique Power T play; and
WHEREAS, Team 133 has demonstrated excellence on and off the field throughout the 2024
season, proving to be a credit to their school and their community; and
WHEREAS, the 2024 Elk River High School Football Team 133 were unstoppable and finished
the season with an overall record of 12-1; and
WHEREAS, Team 133's hard work and dedication have resulted in a second Class 5A state
championship victory in three seasons along with a third championship in the last nine seasons.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, John J. Dietz, Mayor of Elk River, do
hereby recognize and commend Team 133 for their outstanding achievements during the 2024
season and for their continued commitment to excellence in athletics and sportsmanship.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that December 16, 2024, be proclaimed as Elk River High
School Football Team 133 Day in the City of Elk River, Minnesota.
